Edlin6 in Hawaii

Well, as you may know, we spent the new year in Hawaii and what a grand time we had. This photo was taken from the beach outside our condo on Kaua'i. It was early morning and we were still looking a little tired.

Our first 5 days were on Oahu in a beach house in Laie (pronounced lay-ee-uh). It's on the north east side of the Island. Cathy and the kids are trying to get some beach time in while it's not raining. The tide is in and it had rained recently, so the water doesn't look so great but it was most of the time, rain or not. We collected many coconuts from this shore and we got pretty good at opening them. Justice loved it. At night there was a fish feeding frenzy going on that was pretty cool to watch. No sharks, just some needle fish and hundreds of smaller fish we couldn't I.D.
This is Hanauma Bay. If you go to Oahu, it's a must. It's a volcano crater that washed into the ocean. You can see how clear the water is, the dark stuff is not sea weed, it's coral reef and fish flock to it. The waves are gentle and snorkeling can't get much better than this. This was one of the clearest days we had on this island, and it rained several times while we were here.
These two pictures were taken at the Dole plantation, also on Oahu. Colton is posing with one of many pineapple varieties they grow. It's in a whiskey barrell that was not marked as a Bluegrass Barrell. The bottom picture speaks for itself.

Every day ended similar to this: so exhausted you fall asleep crawling through the furniture. I will post more photos and stories as I can, I still have a lot of unpacking to do.
