The next day after Lake Eklutna, I went to Mount Eklutna. This time I made summit. I had blisters the size of quarters on my heels too. Beautiful day.

First Hike of 2010
I went out to Lake Eklutna with my friend Rob for the first hike of the year. It was a little too early. The snow where I'm standing here is 2-3 feet deep. We'd been in snow shoes for a while when we took this picture. The trails facing south are passable with minimal to no snow, this one must face north. That's Lake Eklutna in the background, still iced over. We saw lots of sheep this day.
